Victim Crisis Assistance Ontario

Victim Crisis Assistance Ontario (VCAO) assists people in a crisis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; in the aftermath of a crime or tragedy.

With a Victim’s consent, Police will arrange for our staff and specially trained volunteers to provide on-site assistance to victims and make referrals to agencies in our community. We can provide crisis intervention on-site or via telephone.

Each person’s reaction to trauma is highly individual; people who have been victims of a crime or tragedy often share a sense of having lost control.  In the initial stages of any crisis, most people want to speak to someone who will understand their immediate need for information pertaining to: personal safety, wellness, trauma reactions and support available to them.  Our intervention enhances victims safety, provides emotional support and connection to the appropriate agencies.  Staff follows up within a few days of the incident.

If you are a victim of a crime or tragedy and in need of assistance, please call our office at 519-600-4108 for support.

Funding for this Program is provided by the Government of Ontario.
