Supporting Victim Services Huron County

Victim Services Huron County is a registered charitable organization. Your donations provide the tools, training, and resources our volunteers require to move victims from crisis to hope.

All donations and fundraising efforts directly support the victims and volunteers within Huron County.

Core funding is received from The Ministry of the Attorney General – Victims and Vulnerable Persons Division. This funding comes from the Victim Justice Fund – monies collected by The Province of Ontario from Victim Fine Surcharges. These funds cover the necessities of this program, including salaries, rent, communications, office supplies, etc.

This funding does not cover additional expenses to support a victim, including:

  • Extensive volunteer training specific to a multitude of stressful situations, including death notifications, tragic circumstances, sexual assault, religious beliefs and cultural competency, self preservation, etc.
  • Volunteer mileage expenses.
  • Enhanced services and comfort kits for victims, which may include teddy bears and colouring books for children, gift cards for hot meals, etc.

Whether you are a longtime supporter or you’re donating for the first time, we appreciate your support on behalf of the individuals and families in Huron County. Together, we provide meaningful services to real people within our community – in real crisis.
